Hommage á Mecklenburg Vorpommern

Like I said before it's good to keep in mind where home is. And I am just a lucky person to call Mecklenburg my home. I guess the pics speak for themselves. There are voices that say that Mecklenburg is one of the poorest regions in Germany. That is true when talking about municipal budgets and the amount of Hartz IV receipients. We have a tremendously high unemployment rate. Brain drain one more challenge. But...

 

We are still rich: beautiful little villages, beautiful nature with hills, thousands of lakes with crystal-clear water and deep forests. Silence seekers find themselves walking through the green and actually staying with themselves.

You will find a lot of fine arts within the villages. Green food farms.

 

Baltic Sea, a place to calm down as well. No tides, no crowded beaches and nice sand.

 

And the people: down to earth and very warmhearted and very much connected to their soil and nature. Very much aware of changes in nature.

Talk to them: at campfires, at mushrooms forays, when fishing, at the fresh fish bread roll sales booth...
